ARTIST STATEMENT & BIO

Based in the Pacific Northwest, Margaret is a Cali-born Chinese-American photographer. Through documentary based family work and environmental portraits, Margaret explores ways of giving visual language to the poetry of human nature. She enjoys pondering the nuances of humans as well as the constructs we create and in which we live.

Her typical work is documentary family photography commissioned by families.
Her personal projects are meant to raise questions. Her projects, TOMGIRL (a fine art conceptual series) and Morph (a long-term documentary project), are meant to question gender norms and gender stereotypes.
